Making It The Priority
Whats keeping you from seeking Christ first?
Have you ever taken the time to track the distractions that come up when you stop to spend time with Christ? Tracking what's actually pulling at your attention while you're with Him gives you deeper insight into how you get pulled away from Him in everyday life. Over the next few days, I want you to cast your cares and record them in your notes. The moment you know what's blocking you is the moment you can move it out of the way.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all things shall be added unto you."
— Matthew 6:33, KJV
Spiritwork Objective
Build the daily habit of prioritizing Christ, casting your cares, and identifying the recurring ones keeping you from deeper intimacy with Him.
Observation of Cares
For the next three days, spend time with Christ at least twice a day. Use the Import Keep Note button inside each day's Cares section to quickly upload your Notes from Google Keep so you can review them.
Revealing Distractions
Review your Cares from the last three days and answer the following questions.
1. What patterns do you notice across your notes, and which cares came up the most?
(A specific worry, task, or relationship that kept stealing your focus?)
Categories of Cares
The cares that pull at you while spend time with Christ tend to fall into two categories; works and beliefs.
2. Review the categories of cares and your notes. Were your cares mostly works, or beliefs? What does this reveal about your faith in Christ?
3. Reflect on one specific belief you carried or action you took, when you know you should have trusted Jesus instead. If that situation came up again, how would you handle it now, knowing what you know?
